Vitamin C Therapy

Alternative Cancer Treatment.

A stylized graphic of a mountain range with jagged, overlapping peaks. The mountains, reminiscent of a vet's precise care, are rendered in shades of blue that transition from dark at the top to light at the bottom, set against a striking white and black background.

Slide Two cats walking side by side on a dirt path through a grassy field, their tails curved together to form a heart shape. The background is blurred with warm, sunset tones, perfect for any veterinarian documenting the bond between pets. A small corgi dog with a fluffy coat and a green collar stands on its hind legs in the grass, looking intently at an orange butterfly hovering in the air in front of it. The background shows an open, grassy field under a clear sky, suggesting a perfect day for its vet visit. Intravenous (IV) Vitamin C Therapy involves the administration of Vitamin C directly into the bloodstream. This delivery system is very powerful because it allows the plasma concentration of Vitamin C to reach levels high enough to kill cancer cells.
  • Vitamin C at high blood concentrations works as a prooxidant rather than an antioxidant. When given intravenously, Vitamin C has been shown to generate the production of hydrogen peroxide that directly kills cancer cells in the early stages of cancer.
  • IV Vitamin C can also be used as a primary cancer therapy when conventional cancer therapy is not possible due to adverse side effects, weakness of the patient and when conventional treatment has proven ineffective. It is often combined with acupuncture and other alternative therapies (herbal medicine, nutritional therapies) for the treatment of cancer.
  • IV Vitamin C is commonly used with conventional cancer therapies to prevent and decrease the adverse effects of conventional cancer therapies. It can be safely combined with chemotherapy and radiotherapy, before, during, and after treatment. It can also be given before and after surgery to decrease development of metastatic disease and boost immune function.
  • Each animal is evaluated individually. In general, the dose and dosing interval of IV Vitamin C will vary depending on the type and severity of cancer present, the animal’s condition, other therapies given, and whether the animal will be treated with chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy at the same time as Vitamin C therapy.
  • Intravenous access is achieved by placing a small venous catheter into a vein in the animal’s front or rear leg. Infusion times can range from 1-3 hours in duration depending on the dose.
Acupuncture Applications A dark, circular shape is overlaid with evenly spaced, vertical white wavy lines against a black background. The white wavy lines extend outside the circular shape, creating a sense of movement and contrast akin to the precise care of a veterinarian’s gentle touch.
