When not in the office, Dr. Landon can be found hiking, off-roading, and exploring the local terrain with her children. She is also “mom” to 3 trouble-making felines and a precocious sheltie. On her “down time,” she enjoys immersing herself in her lifelong passion for dance, as well as baking, sewing, and refinishing furniture. She is excited to call Reno home again and put down roots. Veterinary medicine has a very special place in my heart! Every day I am grateful to have achieved a lifelong dream and feel very blessed that I get to spend my life doing something I love. My passion and love for animals developed at a very young age and early on I learned the true value of the human-animal bond. Having experienced this bond personally, I know how important it is to keep our furry companions healthy.
After practicing for six years at another clinic, I still find I am always learning and improving my ability to help animals. I enjoy the science and challenges that veterinary medicine presents and strive each day to be the best Veterinarian I can be for my patients. I value the long-term relationships that I develop with my clients and enjoy working with them together to ensure that their loved ones receive the best care possible.
I was born and raised in the Reno/Sparks area. I started working at the age of 15 at a local clinic and the rest is history. I attended the University of Nevada where I played soccer while pursuing a degree in Animal Science. I was accepted into Colorado State University of Veterinary Medicine and often came back to Nevada to work at local hospitals and the shelter. I was eager to return to Nevada to be close to family, friends, and a community I adore.
My interests include Internal Medicine and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. Currently, I am working on my Master’s Degree to specialize in integrative medicine.
My heart belongs to my three boys and to my four-legged children. This is where you will find me spending my free time. They continue to help me grow as a Mom and as a Veterinarian where I strive to make them as proud as possible.
I love every aspect of Veterinary medicine and I hope to share my passion with everyone I meet! Click below button to watch my Intro video!

Monica has always had a passion for all things animal related. More than a few of her earliest memories revolve around tending her pet guinea pigs, snakes, fish, and cats! From an early age, Monica would help rehabilitate wild critters that were injured or abandoned, including orphaned baby bunnies, birds, and squirrels.
As her zeal for animal care grew, it evolved into volunteering at a wildlife sanctuary as well as running an animal club during her high school years. She moved from the Bay Area, CA to Reno, NV in 2018 to pursue a career in veterinary care where she found herself immersed in the Mountain View family. She started in the doggie daycare facility and worked her way up to become a veterinary assistant, often training and mentoring new team members. Her interests in veterinary medicine encompass exotic and urgent care/emergency medicine. Over the last few years, she has cared for and fostered many animals, including her most recent addition, a boisterous and adorable lab mix named June Bug.

Sarah Kalivoda was born in Topeka, Kansas. Soon thereafter, her family moved to Jones, Oklahoma where she was raised on a ranch. At the age of 3, her love of animals began… she started showing horses competitively throughout the Midwest eventually winning 8th in the World! During her high school years, her family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where Dr. Sarah attended Advance Technologies Academy, focusing on architecture (a second passion). After high school, she realized her true calling was still veterinary medicine. She then completed her bachelor’s in Animal Science with Honors at the University of Nevada, Reno in 2006.
She was heavily involved in extra-curricular activities including being an Ambassador for the University and helping create an Animal Science Business Fraternity. She then went on the graduate from Oklahoma State University with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. Soon following, she traveled to Albuquerque, New Mexico to complete her internship in 2011, which included a focus in soft tissue surgery, emergency, oncology, ophthalmology, and internal medicine. Dr. Sarah is heavily involved with rescue organizations and her happiest moments are when homeless animals find loving homes.
Dr. Sarah is a lover of life and is not afraid to break the molds. After practicing traditional Veterinary Medicine for a number of years, she began to see a huge gap in the animal healthcare system. While understanding the need for Westernized Veterinary Medicine, she knew that a pill or procedure wasn’t the answer to every problem. From this understanding grew a passion for Integrative Veterinary Medicine. She has pursued advanced studies geared toward treating the “whole animal,” (body and spirit). She is a Certified Animal Acupuncturist and is also certified in Ozone Therapy, Prolozone Therapy, Herbal Medicine, and Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation. Dr. Sarah is deeply committed to expanding the knowledge associated with Integrative Medicine, Education, and Research and is constantly keeping up to date by attending Continuing Education Classes and Seminars in both Western and Integrative Medicine across the United States.
Her love for mountains, skiing, and the beautiful landscape that Reno/Tahoe has to offer, led Dr. Sarah to return to the region to practice veterinary medicine in 2011. She recently purchased Mountain View Animal Hospital for its distinctive and integrative medicine practices, calming atmosphere, and determination for the highest standards in patient and client care.
Dr. K’s happy furry family now includes her 2 Chihuahua’s, Tulip and Mango, and her big orange cat, Colonel Cornbread. She splits her time between her devotion to her job and spending time with loved ones traveling and enjoying the outdoors.

Wendi was born in Acapulco, Guerrero and relocated to Reno, Nevada at a very young age. Her passion for the veterinary field started when she was very young. Her mom and sister would bring her to work at the local veterinary clinic here in town. Her family rescued a few dogs over the years, and she would help care for them. As the years passed, she was intrigued and eventually was employed at the same local veterinary clinic her mom and sister worked.
Her kennel tech experience helped her see the veterinary field in a different light. She was passionate about caring for those that couldn’t ask for help.
After several years and different local clinics, she eventually found her home here at Mountain View Animal Hospital and Holistic Pet Care. Her communications skills have helped her work her way up from receptionist to office manager and now has accepted the challenge of becoming the HR Manager.
In her spare time, Wendi loves spending time with her three beautiful kids and her husband.

Gary grew up in Sacramento, CA until moving to Virginia City during his freshman year of High School. Like most kids, he wanted to be a firefighter starting at a very young age. At sixteen he was given an opportunity to be a student volunteer firefighter and the summer after graduating from High School he worked as a seasonal firefighter for the state of Nevada. At nineteen he tested and was hired as a full-time firefighter for the Storey County Fire Protection District. There he was promoted through the ranks and achieved the position of District Fire Chief, in which he served for seventeen years of his thirty-year career, retiring in 2017.
After retiring, he started a consulting company assisting local government leadership through coaching, management, and mentoring. This was supposed to be a couple of days a week type of workload, however, after a year and half of working 50-60 hours a week, it was really time for Gary to slow down.
A couple of months after closing his company, he started to get a little stir crazy and wanted to do something different. Project management was always an interest and was much of what he did in the fire district. That is when he saw that Mountain View advertised for an interesting position of Facilities Coordinator. He met with the management team and really liked the energy, and culture, and appreciated the forward-looking vision of the organization. Shortly after starting it made sense to include Safety Coordination in the job as well.
He loves the challenges of a growing company, working with very bright and energetic professionals and forwarding thinking team members that want the very best for their team, clients, patients, and guests.

So I have always cared for and loved being around animals. In my spare time I like spending time with my husband, family, and my fur babies, also love doing arts and crafts!
