We are excited to welcome Dr. Darrin Lewellen, DVM to our veterinary team. With more than 20 years of experience and a wide-ranging clinical background, Dr. Lewellen brings both depth of expertise and an engaging personality to patient care.
Dr. Lewellen was born and raised in Plainview, Texas, a small farming community that shaped his strong work ethic and practical approach to problem-solving. His lifelong passion for working with animals led him to pursue veterinary medicine at Texas A&M University, where he studied biomedical sciences before earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree as part of the College of Veterinary Medicine Class of 2000.
Throughout his career, Dr. Lewellen has developed special interests in small animal internal medicine, soft tissue and select orthopedic surgery, dentistry, dermatology, avian and exotic medicine, and animal behavior. His diverse training allows him to care for a wide variety of species and complex medical cases.
In addition to his clinical skills, Dr. Lewellen is known for his approachable, energetic personality. He enjoys teaching, values clear communication, and brings a sense of humor to his work—often sharing his trademark “dad puns” with clients and teammates alike.
